Too good to go – 10+2 start-ups make it into the Nordic Accelerator

5-6 September marked the 4th edition of our biannual Nordic Accelerator Intake Boot Camp. The team was full of excitement for what these 25 hours would bring, as after three previous editions, our expectations were set on high-quality ideas and remarkably driven founders. To our surprise, reality completely exceeded this as the twenty shortlisted start-ups performed well above expectations.
Spending 25 hours during intense workshops in a competitive environment is a challenge for anyone after travelling long distances. For this reason, the team prepares invigorating energisers for each boot camp to keep the energy going. This time though, the drive, business potential and can-do attitude of the start-ups boosted the mood like no energiser could. During the days, we witnessed countless fruitful discussions and excellent pitches – all while having a great deal of fun!
Presenting and challenging your ideas are critical aspects to a start-up, as this allows reflection and assurances that you are heading in the right direction and working on the right problems. The EIT Climate-KIC 25-hour intake boot camp achieved just that, giving Evoy the opportunity to talk with experts and other founders on our current targets.

The jury, as well as the team had a tough time selecting ten start-ups that would eventually gain access to the Accelerator programme. Due to the high-quality of the cohort, we decided to go the extra mile. Instead of ten, we welcomed twelve very diverse businesses into our Accelerator with 10 joining Stage I and two joining Stage II of our programme.
Stage I enrolments:
- Biotrino ApS produces sustainable, healthy and affordable superfood protein using micro algae.
- ECO HOME AS provides affordable energy storage by the use of second life electric vehicle batteries.
- Evoy AS offers powerful all-electric marine propulsion systems.
- Goodbanc connects global environmental, social and governance motivated investors to decision metrics driven fixed income climate finance.
- GreenCap Solutions AS provides a system for closed loop environmentally friendly vegetable growth in greenhouses.
- Iternio Planning AB develops ABetterRouteplanner.com, the world’s leading EV planning service.
- Oisann Engineering AS provides a desalination system that has a substantially reduced environmental impact.
- Soil Steam International AS’ technology replaces pesticides with steam in modern agriculture.
- Pesitho creates off-grid solar powered electric cook stoves for emerging markets.
- SWITCHR’s platform offers you a way to grow your savings, reduce your carbon footprint and get 6% return while generating clean energy.
Stage II enrolments:
- IRRIOT offers a wireless precision irrigation IOT platform.
- Pond A/S offers the first 100% bio-based and biodegradable resin to substitute regular plastic.
Moving mountains
When you see unique cleantech potential you ought to move mountains. Hence, the team did just that by opening up two extra spots in the programme. It is our pleasure to seek extra opportunities for cleantech heroes whose game-changing ideas are paired with real business acumen. All for a sustainable tomorrow.
Special thanks goes out to the well established jury members from WWF Sweden, Novozymes and Lund Innovation – your fresh eyes helped us immensely in making the final cut. Clean Sea Solutions AS, GreenStock, Hurricane Unwinder, Intelligent Pollutant Monitoring, Lupinta, pSk earth adaptation AB, SCT Biotech, Solar Water Solutions Oy – we sincerely hope you keep up the good work and seek further opportunities to work with us in the future.
