Fall arrivals of the Nordic Accelerator
3-4 September marked the first digital edition of our returning biannual Nordic Accelerator Intake Boot Camp. Our team was full of excitement for what this new edition would bring. An ambitious programme provided detailed insights into twenty impact-driven businesses. Five workshops and twenty pitches later the results are in. Get to know the ten new start-ups we’ve welcomed in our community.
The winners are
- Aquammodate AB reinvents natural water purification with the goal to accommodate the world’s need for clean water.
- Avoin Map connects food companies and farmers to carbon finance.
- B’ZEOS develops sustainable home compostable packaging based on seaweed.
- Build up Nepal Engineering empowers entrepreneurs to build climate-friendly houses.
- FooIn provides inventory solutions for grocery stores to increase efficiency and reduce food waste.
- Nordic Algae offers the needed equipment for establishing efficient seaweed farms to ensure a sustainable supply.
- Reel democratises the energy market enabling SMEs to procure energy with a Reel climate contribution.
- Solartes develops smart blinds that use solar energy for automatic temperature control in buildings.
- Søuld captures carbon in buildings by turning Danish up-cycled seagrass into building products.
- WattWorker turns large buildings into intelligent energy assets for property owners.
A for Effort
In contrast to previous editions in Malmö, this time we met in the virtual space to select ten start-ups to join Stage I of the Accelerator. After starting the day with a round of introductions we continued with a series of workshops. The founders expanded on their start-ups’ value proposition, climate impact, customer insights, vision and action plan. During these two days we got to know some truly remarkable ideas and witnessed a fantastic pitch session. Thumbs up to all participants and jury members for helping us make these two days a success!
